When Thomas Jefferson built Monticello in the Virginia Mountains over 200 years ago, he understood the harsh elements that a home would  have to endure. Monticello displayed these in every aspect  from the brick outer shell to the hardwood floors.  Both still remain today. These floors are a testement to the enduring strength and charactor of hardwood flooring.
